Harford County md Whistler 1065 programing

I have tried 3 different programs that did not help. I have installed a dicone antenna with lmr cable. I am able to bring in 4 weather channels and also the conventional fire channel. But the trucking and talk groups are not doing much. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone close wants to program it that wouls also be great

Good luck - not the easiest radio to program to follow a trunked system. If you purchased it new recently, I would consider returning it and buying a more modern scanner.

I'm in Delta, Pa and can help you program it.. Are you using the CMARC system information or using the old Harford County 800 Mhz only information?

Here is an ARC500 file for Harford County. It also includes Baltimore County, Baltimore City, and Carroll County. Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Open the extracted file with ARC500 and Upload to Scanner. If you have any problems with missed transmissions, dropouts, or garbled audio, it will be due to simulcast distortion. You may get better reception using just the antenna on the back of your scanner. It may also help to turn on the attenuator.

I am using the cmarc system I have tried using the butel system psr and the win systems to program with no luck I can pick up 4 weather channel and the old 460.000 conventual fire headquarters fine. I honestly do not know if the programing is is off or if the Harford Simulcast is the problem. I am waiting for a room to open at the hospital right now so as soon as they get me going again it would be great to give you the unit and have you program it. Just PM me on the same thread where I notified you of the file on the Maryland forum and give me the contact info. Harford County has simulcast issues. How well the scanner works will depend upon your location. I can give you some hints of what to try to improve reception. You can let me know your location on the PM. I programmed the P25 system using the Harford County 700/800 MHz frequencies listed on the CMARC system. The old Motorola Type II system previously had only nine 800 MHz frequencies which are now incorporated into the CMARC system.

Donald... I believe you are having the dreaded LSM issue.. I can program it but I can't guarantee you'll hear anything.. You can also email me the profile you created in Butel and I can look it over and see if there is anything wrong with it.. Either way, I'll be glad to help you out.
