I have recently purchased a new digital scanner (GRE 600) I like to listen to Harford County Maryland and have down loaded their trunk system to my scanner. I live in Lancaster County,Pa. and I receive the dispatch on 460.600 very clearly, I can hear the dispatcher tell the company to switch for example to talk group A4 which is usually the medical talk group. That is where thing stop, I do not receive any transmission from that point on. When the units go back in quarters I here they call headquarters. I do not know what I'm doing incorrectly if anything. Would it be possible that the power on the trunked system is not as good as the simulcast on the conventional 460.600. If anyone could help shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

You hit the nail on the head. The 460.600 frequency is for paging, so it must be strong enough to activate pagers with very small internal antennas. Also, by nature 460mhz frequencies propagate further than 800mhz frequencies. From Quarryville, you may have better luck picking up the trunked system with a good antenna, or by moving the scanner to a high floor of your home and near a south-facing window.
