Harford County Upgrading System

Just saw this on the Sun's website Harford wins grant to improve communications - baltimoresun.com. I thought that Harford's system was fairly new, like within the last 10 years - wonder what they think they are going to 'upgrade' to. Hopefully they don't go the same route as Cecil with ProVoice.

now that I've read the article, I doubt it's TDMA.

It is likely they are updating subscriber radios or something. In the radio world, $750K doesn't go very far. It must not be too big of a project - certainly not a migration to EDACS.

From the Sun article:
"the technology would help police, fire and emergency medical services workers share videos, images and data securely"

My bet is that they are going to upgrade the in-car (truck, ambulance, etc) data system that was outdated BEFORE it was installed.

Aaron I will agree with you, the 460 system was well outdated before they ever put it in and they want to upgrade that system.
