The Harnett County EDACS system rebanding will enter Phase II in December. At that time, all portable radios which must be replaced will be exchanged with current programming installed. Work on all mobile radios will then proceed.

Once all necessary portable and mobile units have been replaced so that the system is ready for the new programming, Phase III will commence and final programming will be implemented.

I have no concrete dates for Phase III.

Next phase underway...

All the unrebandable handhelds have been replaced with Jaguar 7100's or 5100's.

Beginning Monday, March 2, 2009, all unrebandable mobiles and desktops are to be replaced. Not sure how long this procedure will take, but have been told it could take as long as 3 hours per mobile unit, so we may be at this point for a while.

Once all the mobiles and desktops have been replaced, it will be time for the next phase which should be the actual rebanding.

I'm hoping to be able to converse with a radio tech in the next week or two so that I can have some definitive information for you.

Stay tuned.

UPDATE: The non-rebandable mobile units continue to be removed/replaced. There are nearly 350 of these units and it is taking approximately 3 hours/each to effect the change.

All of the non-rebandable portables have been replaced and are in service.

The telecommunications personnel told me yesterday that it will be mid-May before the project is complete.

I have been promised site freqs and TGIDs as soon as they have been finalized.

I just messaged ROBBYBOY and assured him that I will submit ALL this information to the database just as soon as I get my hands on it.

I've reviewed the information in the database and it is reasonably accurate at the moment. There are a few errors and omissions, but nothing that would disrupt your monitoring.

As soon as I know, you will.

UPDATE: I spoke with one of the rebanding technicians this afternoon. New radio installations and reprogramming is nearly complete.

The next step is reprogram the tower sites. When this occurs (approximately mid-May) it will appear to those scanning that Harnett County has gone off-the-air. It will be as simple to fix as adding the new freqs. I'm trying to get my hands on that information as we speak.

Once the towers are complete, if all is still working well, then the new talk group id's will be programmed into ALL the equipment and all the prerebanding information will be deleted.

We're almost there. I'll let you know as I learn more.

I was wondering why I was not able to track the new frequencies. I had the new ones for spout springs tower as 1 thru 5 like the old layout. Gotta get busy reprograming.
Thanks a million Kirk

I'm working with a control channel of 851.4125..LCN 09 on UniTrunker Retro. Trying to figure out the other frequencies and LCN.

From my location I'm getting the Control channel from 30-55% with an attic mounted RS Discone.

So far it's up and working, using a PRO96 to scan from 850-855. I found five frequencies that match up with activity on UniTrunker.

Using Control Channel 851.4125 (the strongest one, I can also hear 852.5625 but it's unusable), I have come up with

09 851.0875
10 851.4125
11 851.9000
12 851.9500
13 852.1125

Still verifying the frequencies, as some are so weak they may be for another site. Yet activity on UT matches the activity on the frequency as I monitor it.

Curious as to the odd LCN, starting at 09. I input the same freqs and LCN into my 396 and it's working great from Holly Springs.

Hearing a lot of "Test 123" comms going on right now...

Also picking up CC on 852.5625
this would be the western tower.
should be
9-852.3375
10-852.5625
11-852.8375
12-853.3375
13-853.6000

I just programed the new frequencies in starting with LCN 09 thru LCN13 and that is the correct order for the western tower.
