BCD436HP/BCD536HP: Harris P25 and BCD436HP

My local county is a Harris P25 800mhz trunk. All of the frequencies on this system are labeled as control channels. The 436 suffers from a control channel lock delay unlike a neighboring county motorola 700mhz trunk system. I've seen multiple closed discussion threads on this but haven't figured out if there is a solution? Anyone experience the same issue?

Yes Its defiantly a simulcast system. Spotsylvania County VA

It's not your settings, its the 436's poor simulcast performance. Try a SDS100 and you'll get performance pretty close to the Unication.

The only "solution" I found with the 436 on the Harris P25 CC acquire delay is to set the squelch to 0, then back to normal. For the particular system I was monitoring it would lock the control channel when I dropped the squelch then act as expected. It may vary system to system though.
