Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I'm looking for some advice on some radios I purchased. These Radios I bought at auction and all programming was deleted. They are Harris P5500, Model EX55-PBV1B

Can buy the software/cable from the manufacturer or a re seller? I have done some google search with no luck. There is no one in my local area offering VHF programming

I appreciate the help! Thanks

The programming cable for these is pricy, generally over $100, but you will need one.
RPM 14 is floating around, that is the software you will need.
If you are looking to flip these, they need to work and at least display the installed features.
Batteries are not cheap, antennas are not cheap but I see you have some VHF in the lot.

OK Thanks for the response. I do have everything needed for the radios. I have about 80+ chargers, battery's, antennas, small mic setups, and then a bunch of large docking stations. I added some more photos.

I just need to find the software and programming cable. I only need about 20 of these for my company operations then Ill maybe sell the remainder, does anyone have any idea of what would be a fair price for these radios?

Is there any online venders selling the software? I just wanna make sure I purchase the correct one. There is no Harris Dealer in my province. Thanks again

The Harris RPM (Radio Personality Manager) software is about $900USD. Not sure who the Harris dealers are in Canada. Racom and Daley Wells are two down here in the states, not sure if they can sell in Canada.

Programming cable is part number CA-023407-001 and is $190USD new. You may be able to find after market cables cheaper.

New, those radios were in the $1400USD list price. Value will depend on which features are active in the radio, condition, etc. I wouldn't pay more than $200 for one of those if it was in really good shape and included battery, antenna and charger.

Id also like to note that programming those is not for the faint of heart. Harris RPM has quite the learning curve for experienced programmers, nevermind newbies. Perhaps there's someone near you that would be willing to program them for you? Or having a dealer program them if all you need is 20.

Yes.

If you haven't programmed radios like these before, this is excellent advice. The cost of trying to do it yourself:
Software
Programming cable
Many labor hours trying to learn to navigate Harris RPM software
Several labor hours figuring out how to program your frequencies in plus testing, adjustment, etc.
That's a lot of time/money spent on programming a few frequencies into these radios. With the radios wiped (as they should be) you don't have a good example of what proper programming should look like. That means the steep learning curve is going to be a real challenge.

Finding a radio shop or tech that can do it for you may be cheaper for 20 radios. You might even work a trade where they'll program the radios for free in exchange for some of the radios you don't need.

If shipping across the border wasn't such a hassle, I'd offer to do it for you. I'm sure someone up there would do the same.

I'm everywhere Focker!
I'm not super Harris-wise, can someone determine a date code from the picture of the battery? May need to add batteries to the cost of getting these things up and running.
