On the P7200, the RF component of the UDC connector is a physical RF switch. When you connect a public safety speaker mic, it presses in the switch, disconnecting the antenna on the body of the radio and diverting the RF path up the speaker mic. Remove the mic and this switch pops back into place sending RF to the antenna on the top of the radio again. This can not be changed by firmware.
If you look at the UDC on the public safety speaker mic, you will that the centre conductor is a small brass pin. If you don't want to use the antenna on the top of the mic, you can pull this brass pin out with a pair of needle nose pliers. HOWEVER - this is a permanent decision. You likely can't go back once you pull the pin.
