This morning I drove up to the top of the parking garage at Beau Rivage casino to see if I could hear any good USCG or other marine traffic on the oil spill and I decided to do a scan of the 700 and 800 mhz band.
I found a P25 Control Channel on 851.1125 MHz with fairly good strength.
It's broadcasting SITE ID: 01bbh-0101
I saw Tkgrp ID: 3 come up a few times with no audio, and then I did hear a male voice say something but it went by so fast I didn't make out what he said and never heard a reply to it.
As soon as I got back down onto Hwy 90 I about lost the signal, was down to 1 bar, and it kept going in and out until I hit the OS/BILOXI Bridge and then I got 3 bars again, but as soon as I made it into OS I completely lost the signal. Not sure where it is, guessing it's somewhere west of Keesler, or very low power.
I was checking out the db and NEXTEL in OS had a vc on 851.1125 but that site has been offline for over 5 years now.
If someone with a digital scanner is in Harrison County might wanna program that one in and put it on search to see if anything can be identified from it.
