154.310 HFD radio

The 154.310 radio is very sick. We can hardly hear it in Hartford. The city radio mechanics don't want to maintain it and it's not an integral part of the FD communcations system so it goes unmaintained.

We are hopeful that it will be fixed soon. Indications are that it will be addressed however some say that it's going to be phased out. I guess time will tell.

I'm hopeful, but at the same time I wouldn't hold my breath.

154.31

I have a nice Midland 110w unit I would donate to them to keep it on the air.

154.31 off the air as of this morning 02/22/10

As of this morning, 2/22/10 08:00, the 154.31 crossband HFD repeater is off the air. Without getting too technical, the 800 radio that feeds the repeater has not been rebanded as of yet. The 800 trunked system control channel has been changed to one of the new rebanded channels which rendered the un-rebanded radio mute.

HFDRadio.com is feeding the live streaming audio with the 800 trunked system so you will have the ability to listen via internet if outside of the range of the 800 Trunked radio system.

Indications are good that it will be repaired and rebanded within the next two weeks.

Sucess!

As of about 9:30 this morning, the 154.310 radio was turned back on. The 800 Mhz trunked radio has been rebanded! The 154.31 signal is stronger than it has been in a while. Looks like everything is back to normal!

Hartford Police Rebanded?

What happened to Hartford Police frequencies? I had every channel and group nicely imported and programmed into my Pro-106 via Win500 software directly from Radioreference.com. Last time everything was working was on Feb 18, 2010 and as of Feb 23, 2010 7:56pm I still can't receive anything... Does anyone know what's happening?

All you have to do is to change 4 frequencies. Replace the (4) 860.xxxx channels (#13, 14, 15, 16) with the 4 in the first post. Once you do that, it will work like it did before.
If the database gets updated, you can repeat the download. As of now it is incorrect.

Appreciate the help "cg". Yeah I got the clue "connscan"

I replaced those Freqs like you said. I am getting very poor reception for "Hartford Patrol South" and that's about it. I've also noticed that New Britain is now gone as well :( Newington is still loud and clear. I live on the border line of New Britain and Newington. I tried using both 800mhz Radioshack Antenna and Outdoor Scanner full range Antenna. I also tried factory reset for my Pro-106 and reprogrammed it, still the same. Prior to last week I've had crystal clear reception for all the surrounding towns and Hartford.

Any help would be appreciated. Please no ironic comments, I am not a scanner guru...

Thanks!

Database Updates

I think they're a little backed up with multiple updates. It took a bit for my South Windsor Ambulance talk group to appear.

Well, it appears that changing those 4 Freqs worked. I was able to pickup Hartford Patrol North and South as well as Detectives. There are a few BUTs... Sometimes I get this weird background noise, a combination of humming (like a bad ground in an audio cable) and some static. It happens randomly and when it happens the voice volume drops a lot. Even downtown Hartford where the transmission is crystal clear (obviously), all of the sudden it kicks in and interferes to the point where I can't even understand what they are saying. As far as reception outside of the city, it is still horrible. I live in New Britain where reception used to be always crystal clear and now I can barely listen to Hartford PD because it's all noisy and static. I hear a lot of that background humming noise that I explained above. I really hope it is going to be fixed :(

P.S. Still can't figure out what happened to New Britain PD. I am still able to pickup New Britain FD.

Any help appreciated. Thanks...

It sounds like interference and not the radio or programming. Try physically relocating the scanner to another room or take it with you when you go out of the neighborhood. Be sure to keep away from cellphones, routers, computers, etc.

Yep Hartford comes in exactly the same as before it was rebanded. It comes in loud and clear in most places I travel to.

15 854.56250 16 855.01250 17 860.43750

it shows #1 and #13 the same 854.0125

what should be the LCN order. Anyone have it tracking 100%?

I'm 99% sure this is correct. I was only missing # 14 as of this morning and I wasn't getting all the transmissions because of it. I'm on the other side of Avon Mt so I won't be able to check if this revision is 100% until I head towards Hartford tomorrow.

One person sending in bogus info can screw up the whole thing. The control channel can change (and has several times in the last 2 weeks).

This is correct LCN:
1- 854.9625
2- 856.4375
3- 857.4375
4- 858.4375
5- 859.4375
6- 857.9375
7- 857.9875
8- 858.7125
9- 858.9375
10- 858.9875
11- 859.7375
12- 859.9875
13- 854.0125
14- 856.0375
15- 854.5625
16- 855.0125
