Hi all, been loving running UniTrunker V2. It finds lots of stuff my scanner is missing. I want to learn how to harvest the log files and use the info to program my scanner. I can open the logs using LibreOffice and see there is a lot of info there. What is the best way to pull the info I need to program the scanner from these log files. I noted the date and time of one of the TGs I want to enter into the scanner.

Any tips or trick would be most helpful.

I don't use Unitrunker, but if I can see a log I might be able to tell you how to do it in Notepad++. That software IS THE BEST software for all data massaging and whatnot and I use it for everything. Even code.

Do you use ProScan?

I'm using ARC XT Pro to program my BCD996P2. I only use Windows offline to run DSP+, UniTrunker and the ARC-XT software.

There are lots of text editors available on Linux/Gnome (my daily driver) I will investigate Notepad++ and see what might be close on Linux.

I can provide a sample UniTrunker log file and will PM you in a while, I'm tied up now building a crazy strong PC that I plan to run fedora workstation on and the KVM (Virtual Machine) It will have more then enough power to run Linux, Windows, Whonix all at the same time.

What info exactly are you looking to harvest to program a scanner, and which scanner?
The scanner is the BCD996P2. What I want to try and do is find the TGs and whatever else is missing on the scanner because UniTrunker is picking up way more. It's not clear to me how the scanner selects the control channel. One of the control channels I found using SDR++ and DSPplus is crazy busy and I think it's missing from the scanner.

Unitrunker and the scanner can see the same tg’s. I believe that scanner has id search/id scan. If its in id scan, it will only receive what's programmed into the scanner. If in id search, it will receive everything.

Unitrunker will show all activity it receives.

If your scanner programming has all the control channels listed for the system, ensure all tg’s programmed in your scanner match what’s listed on radio reference.

To your original question, from ut main window click on the system you want data from. Top left look for export to Excel

Then select what you want.

It will drop a csv file (APCOP25-YOUR_SYSTEM-20250218.xlsx) in documents and will open that folder. Some people were having issues with excel exports I believe but it works fine with Open Office software.

Thanks, I gave it a try but for some reason the .xlsx files I get are binary. The .xml are text files and I was able to open using LibreOffice Cal.

Any idea on how to read the first and last fields?

Also, check out the 190 groups - I don't think the scanner has 20.

I am running Unitrunker 2.2.0.22 and believe some were having issues with excel exports. 2.2.0.23 was released to fix that.

I would try Open Office as it seems to open the xlsx without any issues.

Thanks, that does look a lot better then what I get using LibreOffice Cal on one of the .xml files and the date/time is readable :)
