BCD325P2/BCD996P2: Has anyone been using the DMR / MOTORBO / NXDN upgrade on this scanner?

As some of you know, I've been making a concerted effort to catalog threads relating to the 436 / 536 / SDS100 and 200 from folks trying to use these modes. Until we get some specific information from Uniden, this is the only way to build a 'reference' to address user's questions.

But what has been happening with the 996P2 and 325P2? The upgrades are available for these 2 scanners, but when you try to find specific threads relating to these scanners and programming / using these modes....

Crickets....

I can catalog the threads easily enough, but it seems that it hasn't been discussed very much.

Just spitballing here but maybe the reason for no threads regarding the upgrades is no one has experienced a problem? I did one upgrade (DMR) on the SDS100 and didn’t have any problems. But I haven’t checked the BCDx36HP’s and the SDS100-200’s for threads regarding the upgrades either.

There’s really nothing to say. The upgrades on these scanners work much the same as the others.

Evidently so - but if the FAQs on the 436 / 536 and SDS scanners are any guide, people do seem to have questions (and some issues) on the mechanics of programming and other functions. It just seems strange that there hasn't been similar discussions on the P2 scanners

[edit] While they may be functionally the same, the programming will be slightly different because the P2 scanners are on a different DMA level than the others. As an example, the P2 scanners don't use Favorites.

While the P2 scanners don't use Fvaorites, programming a DMR system is the same across all the scanners eligible for the upgrades, with the proviso that what the P2 series calls a "Group" is called a Department in the database scanners. There is also the fact that, unlike the x36HP & SDS series scanners, the 325P2 & 996P2 do not have the LCN Finder available (there is no Analyze section in the menu).
