This appears to be based on the AOR SDU-5600 spectrum display unit. I had one, and returned it. It was awful for weak signal work, as they just weren't viewable on the screen. The 5600's sensitivity adjustments were very coarse and really limited what the display could show when signals were down in the mud. Hopefully AOR has made an improvement there. The SDU-5600 had lots of neat features, but I wound up going with an Avcom SDM-42A SDU instead.

Hobbyists in the USA will come up against this statement, which is shown on the AOR USA site, and I quote:

"Product intended for use by government or authorized users in the USA, documentation required."
