You stated “they had no option” and “they had to get rid of their P25 system as primary” though.
No, they didn’t “have to”, there were options, and the P25 sites are still up.

MCPTT is not going away, and what the state has done is put in a public safety grade converged LMR/LTE solution for what many counties spend on LMR alone. As far as the mantra about encryption, can someone please stop the Facebook dispatchers from vomiting up everything they think they hear on social media? Asking for a friend.
In reference to the "public safety grade converged LMR/LTE solution, Henry County did that several years ago and use the LMR side as primary with LTE as backup. And they did it all through L3Harris.

We have close to 300 converged devices on our Motorola Astro 25 2022.1 system via SmartConnect.
Fulton County Schools police just deployed 100 APX N70 portables with FirstNet LTE and WiFi via the school network.
FCSO has many APX NEXT radios.
We have Wave PTX on many devices as well.
The future of LMR is spelled L T E
