Has the old AMPS/1G cellular band been reassigned by the FCC?

I'm more than aware that the first generation cell band(s) are long gone, but I can't find anything about if those frequencies have been re-allocated by the FCC to another service or use. I find it hard to believe that space hasn't been re-assigned. :unsure:

The only thing I found was this from the FCC;

With all this demand for more frequencies, any idea why not? They al5rewady have taken away enough spectrum from broadcast TV as it is. :mad:
Or are they saving it for reasons unknown??

You don't understand. The 824-849/869-894 band was never abandonded. The carriers discontinued AMPS and TDMA-136 but they didn't quit using the band. They switched to GSM then later to LTE (I think Verizon is still CDMA2000). They didn't quit using any frequencies. They added spectrum at 600, 700 MHz, 2 GHz and more.

824-849/869-894 is known as Band 5 and is very active, used by ever major U.S. carrier for LTE. The technology has evolved, not the allocation of the band.

Ok, you are right, I wasn't aware they repurposed the band.
I did a quick scan and I did find this activity;

Just remember that your scanner can not be modified to listen to cellular frequencies... LOL!
