HP-1: Have External Sound, No speaker sound

I have a Home Patrol 1 that has external sound when I plug a cable into the line out. If I take it out, I have no Internal sound. Have tried a reset to no avail. Any Suggestions?

New speaker? I posted about a year ago regarding replacement of a speaker on my hp2.

Was the built in speaker working until you plugged in an external speaker? If so, the ext speaker jack most likely stayed pressed in when you took out the cable end. May try cleaning in case it's just dirt causing it to stick. Could be the spring metal didn't spring back. Not sure if line out is same as ext speaker. Does plugging in to line out normally cause the internal speaker to go silent?

Yes, try the earphone jack to see if you have sound from it. Then it's either the jack or the speaker that's faulty. Spray some contact cleaner in the jack and exercise it with the plug.
