• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

155.46 - Simplex Base to 154.68 mobile
159.21 - Usually the 155.46 base will be repeated here. Mobile is 154.665 or 154.695
155.445 - duplex. Mobile is 154.665 or 154.695

All six frequencies will take you statewide. Usually THP will also talk with the local SO on the respective county freq where they're assigned or in some cases have a TG assigned on the trunked systems.

There was some talk last week of the Corpus area having digital working. Check out the database under Dept of Public Safety for those freq's. The digital system is also 2 meter.

Last weekend there was good skip coming from south TX on 155.46. I was picking it up on my Alinco rig with a 1/4 wave antenna in the garage.

Safe travel.
