Heading for Gilchrist County

I live in Atlanta and am coming down this weekend to take fire apparatus pictures in the Gainesville area for FIRE APPARATUS JOURNAL. I am Contributing Editor of the magazine and have a PRESS badge. I am also a licensed GMRS operator as well as a badge-holding member of the Atlanta Fire Department auxiliary. Will that be sufficient to protect me should I get stopped for having a scanner in the car?

Nope.

Just be smart and you'll be OK. I have been pulled 3-4 times now, no problems. Not much in Gilchrist County man. However it should be said if you are taking SR 26 through Newberry heading to Gilchrist from I-75, it will be worth your time to eat at Newberry's backyard BBQ. :wink:

EDIT: You'll probably want to take SR 47 in Lake city, that goes straight to Trenton, avoid the Hot Dog place.
