Headphone Jack Repair

I have a BCD996T and it has the headphone jack problem where the internal speaker and the rear speaker jack does not work, yet the headphone jack does work.

Will Uniden still repair this problem?

Can they upgrade the firmware at the same time?

I'm sure that it can still be repaired, the flat rate fee for that (and most) scanners is $49.50.

If you included a note to upgrade the firmware they would probably do that also.... if not, it's easy enough to do that yourself (if there are any available updates for your scanner).

cheap fix

my 396t has the some problem once and a while. especially after using the jack.
a cheap fix would be to use computer speakers. with my radio it even sounded better.

I will send it in for repair. I don't have room for an amplified speaker and the internal speaker, if I recall correctly, is good enough for communications.
