Every time I press function or program my scanner locks up and displays:
Heap Error 24331F : 243A

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Your master site
Have you used WIN500 to upload programming to the radio?

Did you try and search for "heap error" in this forum? It has been discussed before.

heap error

I have got a major issue with my 500. I tried programming in (manually) a trunked 800 system. After I was done, it told me it was full. I took it as the memory was, didn't think too much about it, and didn't even try to re-enter anything. When I went back into scan mode and tried to lockout an aircraft freq., it gave me (and is still giving me) "Heap error 25B521 : 25BC
So...I just now tried to re write the radio and it won't even do that. When I try to write to the radio it gives me "Heap full 0C6EF8 : 84" and will do nothing else.
I have looked through all of the "heap error" forums here, and none really assist me, other than to suggest re loading the firmware.
I tried that and am getting "Heap error 25B51F : 25BC" when only trying the "test" button.

I am completely dead in the water, any suggestions?

It's likely that you have some TGRP objects that are not associated with any TSYS. That's not supposed to cause a problem, but it seems that it can.

Have you used any PC software to program the scanner? If so, you should download from the scanner into that software, then delete any TGRPs that are not associated with any TSYS (or, maybe better, assign them to a TSYS). Then reload to the scanner.

Don you are correct with your suggestion. That "Heap error" problem happen with my PSR500. So i had re-checked and delete any TGRPs that are not associated with any TSYS and then reloaded the scanner.

Win500

Don,
I use WIN500 to program it. I attempted to download from the scanner, but it again gave me the heap error.
I finally did figure it out. I manually went in and found the system and deleted it. It then stopped with the heap errors and I was able to re write the radio. At first when I tried to do anything manually, any key I touched, it gave me a heap error.

I am back up and running. Thank you all for the help
