Great way to phrase it. I used to find these by going into Win500 to find the disconnects.
When there is a heap error & when i try to get into the system to see what's wrong & i punch the PROG button all i get is the heap error message, why can't i open & get into the talk group's ? i always have to use 0-1 enter to reprogram it. Why do i have to do that ?

Which programming system are you using? Hopefully, you are using Win500.

In order to find a Heap Error, it is necessary to open up the radio using "All Objects." Then, you can see which radio system has been disconnected or never attached to the various talk groups.

In this picture, it shows the TSYS (Trunking System) in the top box for "Santa Clara." This is the trunked system you are programming.

Below, there is another box that shows the associated talk groups (channels) associated with the Santa Clara MOT 800/900. You can see the talk groups associated, i.e., those in purple.

I showed this for a reason. All of the TSYS in the top box are directly connected to the talk groups below.

If you look, you will see another EDACS system for Oakland. Hence, if you clicked on Oakland instead of Santa Clara, you would see the various talk groups with that system.

You will that one of your trunked systems has no talk groups associated with it. Use "All Objects" to find which one has no talk groups. Then, go back into your radio and add the talk groups.
