Heard ops on UTAC-3

When I was traveling to work on Hwy 290 toward Greer, SC, I monitored some informal comms on 453.7125 mhz. Sounded like someone getting ready for a search operation off US 25 North. This is the second use of VTac/UTac channels in the last couple of years. The first was Easley FD personel on VTac1.

Was the traffic repeated, or simplex? Was a tone used?

It appeared to be simplex and the 156.7 tone was there since my Kenwood D710 was programmed to receive the tone. The comms were very weak and I assumed somewhere north of TR on US25. Two guys trying to park out of the way before walking in.

Since Glassy Mtn and Lk Cunningham both use freqs in that range, logic tells me thats the first place to check.

Today, I heard fire ground ops on 453.8625 (UTAC4?) in the same area. It is probably Lake Cunningham FD.
