Heard something on 166.325

I heard something on the federal VHF allocated bands today. On 166.325 MHz I heard what sounded like a burst of digitized grinding noise and then a male voice responded in the clear with "You sound a little noisy" and then the grinding noise transmitted and nothing further was said. No idea which agency this could be.

Next time, see if 166.9250 sounds better :wink:

166.3250/166.9250 are usually NPS, BIA, BLM,USF&W users

Either one could be the Repeater , but are typically paired

Thanks man. I live not far from the Smokies so it might be NPS Rangers. If so, I might have something to submit to the database as that frequency isn't listed for the Smokey Mountains.
