Hearing a new Unit designator

In the last few weeks, I've heard a new designator of W#-##.

I have heard the ID of a W4-XX and W2-XX they called Reno and/or Rice County dispatch on the county TG saying they are 10-8 in the county for a little while.

Does anyone have any idea who/what these units are?

Wildlife and Parks game wardens have been using the W designators instead of the old K numbers.
