Hello, Someone just gave me a Heathkit 2.5 w linear amp. I live down in a remote part of Mexico. I 've been reading up on this equipment and am trying to figure out if it could be used to boost a wifi signal in the 2.4 ghz range. somehow. I know you're shortwave but perhaps you could pass on some information on how this amp works and how it is connected to the system. That would help me. I have a bullet wifi radio and a grid antenna.

Heathkit was a wonderful company back in the day. They catered to HAM radio operators. I'm going to make a guess that the linear amplifier that you have is a tube type amp for HF.

2.4GHz is in the microwave band. The amp that you have won't work in the microwave band and it can't be modified to work the way that you want it to. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near a 2.5kW microwave transmitter.
