4/3/13:
A Robinson R44 helicopter crashed in the Dade County suburb of Kendall a few days ago (sorry for the late response). According to witnesses, a loud "boom" emanated from the aircraft a little after it took off from Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport, and then took a dive into a parking lot. Two people were pulled from the helicopter just before it was engulfed in flames. Both died on the scene.
Sadly, one of the passengers was a 17 year Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue veteran who served on one of the Air Rescue units as a co-pilot.
