Geez, did the handful of scanner heads in Alaska moved out of state or what?

Anybody out there?

Anybody monitoring the ALMR in Anchorage or anywhere else?

Actually, one moved INTO the state

No ALMR up here (yet), IIRC they are having tech issues because of the satellite delay for digital synch and networking compatibility.

Oh cool, I remember a while ago you have mentioned you were moving up there.

If I may ask, who or where did you hear that from? (the satellite delays, etc.) At one time they were going to use our FAA ANICS stations that I work with to bring ALMR to many of the remote areas but I wonder if they're still going with that plan....

Our in-house radio tech. He told me this about a month ago though, so things may have changed. Hell, I'd settle for just networking the Borough's 8-site system, so I could hear friends, and they'd be better able to get through to dispatch. As it stands, it's about a 2-minute procedure of interconnects.
