Hello until about a weeks ago i could Receive troy Police on my sds100 but now they went quiet did they switch to a new system?

Hello up until about two weeks ago i could receive troy Police on my sds100 now i don't hear them . Did they switch systems ?

Where were you receiving them? Capital Digitronics or Troy P25 system?

P25 in the database lists them as encrypted and Capital Digitronics lists as analog and clear. Maybe they left the Edacs system?

They may have left Edacs but it looks like (base on the last 100 changes) they have been enc on P25 for a while. Are you sure that's where you were listening? On the Troy P25 system?

There was also a talkgroup on the Rensselaer County system, at one point at least. If the listing on the Troy P25 system is correct, they are encrypted so you're not going to hear anything.

Good Morning so a few thoughts.... 1 yes the Troy PD TG 212 on the County Sys has gone dark and will remain that way. 2 they are back to the edacs system for the time being. and as far as GTR said that tg on the Troy P25 sys is encrypted and is not used that often.

Their feed still sounds like it their edacs system. afik the talkgroup on the county P25 system was a patch from edacs. Last time I knew the police operations on the Troy P25 system are encrypted so they are using it sometimes but apparantly not giving up the EDACS for main dispatch operations. They must like that EDACS system if its going into over a decade ago since their P25 system was built

Interesting thing this morning. Three radios running. Set one on the old EDACS TG for Troy PD…nothing. Another on their old Troy system (0E6 WACN: 92775)…nothing. At the same time watching on the SDS 100 while locked on TG 212 and I have not seen it light up or have I seen the “ENC” towards the upper right hand corner.

Now the EDACS sysytem was always weak where I am in Glenmont. But it’s still a bit puzzling!

I'm listening to both the broadcastify feeds for Troy. sad as troy was on my weekend listening list with albany for pursuits and shootings. Maybe i'm missing it but after an hour nothing but fire activity. I thought the 0E6 system was encrypted PD dispatch? Didn't troy say way back when they were going enc when ditching edacs? I don't know. With regards to them connecting to albany & rens, I think I remember reading them looking into using the albany system to supplement as I don't believe they said the Rens Co system worked that well into the city on portable as they wanted. I dunno know why they wouldn't use their 0E6 digital system thats specifically for troy. lots of questions

Troy PD seems to have units on the system under various unit IDs on their 0E6 system

with a large commercial yagi I was able receive the following. I'm pretty sure after adjustments to receive as it's not as large of footprint as the larger county systems but seemed few sync loss errors. I'd like local confirmation of the following. The Troy 0E6 system has changed. It is reporting an unlisted site from the DB which is reporting as a neighbor. I was also unable to receive the currently listed in DB of RFSS 2 (Troy) & 3 (NorthGreenbush) while receiving the Watervliet RFSS 1 and it's neighbor. Although that is unconfirmed if I'm out of range or not. FYI Troy 0E6 uses differing RFSS instead of changing site ID as expected with area systems
