My 436hp normally performs with no issues, it tonight after installing freshly charged batteries, after 2-3 mins it sounds the low battery beep, tells me to connect to external power, etc., like the batteries were discharged. If I shut down and restart, It shows 3.47v then again within 2-3 mins does the same thing. I changed batteries in case I grabbed a wrong set, but even with another fresh set, it does the same thing. Is the scanner dying? Is this a serious problem? Never had anything like this before. Any advise would be appreciated. PS: it is working without issue off a/c power.

How old are your batteries? I would bet maybe they are at the end of their life and are not holding the charge anymore.

Thanks for the quick reply, the batteries are only 5 mos old, and it’s odd that three sets of them are doing this. (But they were all bought at the same time) I am going to try another set I just found in my drawer, never used and will see what happens and post the results. Appreciate the quick answer.

Well, I tip my hat and extend my hand in thanks for the advice. Yup, it’s the batteries and I have ordered new ones. The fresh set I found in the drawer is working fine. Thanks to everyone who quickly responded.
