I see the event staff in yellow at the games I go to for the University of Arkansas and I was wanting to know if anybody knew the frequency to them they are called. LANDMARK EVENT STAFFING SERVICES INC. The repeater and PL tone I know somebody out there knows how to do it.

Have you tried searching the FCC database if they're not listed in the RR database?

Not seeing anything specific to Arkansas but I am seeing licenses from that agency in Pittsburgh and New Orleans. Try the frequencies listed in linked licenses first. Though it may be possible they could be using any number of common or itinerant frequencies or even leasing from a radio rental shop. If you have a Uniden scanner with close call you could try enabling it when you're in close proximity to a portable to try and get a hit

How do you know they’re using a repeater or system?

Could easily be using some itinerant simplex or something.

Might also be using the university’s system I suppose.

I know they're uhf analog radios I do know that because one of the radios is Meg one and there is a baseball game tomorrow and basketball but unfortunately I don't have a scanner or the right equipment to find what I need and I know Pittsburgh is where the headquarters is in New Orleans location they got. I just figured somebody might know how to do it that lives around here.

FWIW,

Aramark uses the University of Kentucky's radio system for all primary communications during events. It's very possible they are using the existing university's radio cache or system (If they have one) for operations during events.

Since he said (about the same time you posted your reply) that some of them are carrying Mag One radios (cheap analog Motos) then they wouldn't be on U of A's NEXEDGE Trunking system. But that was also my guess at first.

Now my assumption is they're just using simplex to talk to each other, perhaps even common/itinerant as someone suggested earlier.

How far does simplex go because I do know during football season which I will post a map of all the priority parking that the radio's have to reach and employees and free parking used baseball parking lot the razorback baseball stadium parking lot. The file will open in a PDF file which is the University of Arkansas

Simplex, outside, mostly line of sight, would cover quite a good distance. Plenty for running parking, I would think. If it was stretch out over a couple of miles among taller buildings, etc., then it might suffer on the farthest distances but likely those talking are within certain parking areas. Again, some of this is just assumption on how they're using the radios.

Sounds like the best way to figure it out would be take a scanner in close call mode and see what it hits on, making notes of what you hear and the frequencies/tones being used. Part of the fun of scanning.

I would love to do that but unfortunately I don't have a scanner and the one I did have was a radio shack 97 before it finally quit working. And I haven't been able to get me a new one and I was just seeing perhaps somebody had the equipment and ability to do it and was kind enough to do it and then post it for everybody. They also use the radios inside the football stadium inside the baseball stadium and inside for gymnastics, volleyball, indoor track and field and during football games I do know admin is inside where gymnastics and volleyball is played.

I forgot one thing. I do know they rent radios when there's too many events going on at once when they don't have enough from Smith Two Way Radio, Inc. in Fayetteville Arkansas

They could also easily be leasing the system from Smith. I see in the db they have two systems there.

I saw that but I didn't think it was analog. If someone can help great if not it's okay I at least tried. I do know they have seven channels.

There is a NXDN one listed which isn’t analog. Then there’s something else listed. But if they are like most radio shops, they have a couple of analog repeaters on the air for leasing or random use. I know the local one in my area does. Could be they use something like that.

Since you don’t have a scanner I guess I’m confused as to why you’re wanting to know. Not a big deal, just struck me as odd.

I have a MD 380 two-way radio that someone gave me for free 3 years ago. once I get it programmed to they're frequency I'll be able to listen to them. Some of the jobs I had in the past I was able to use my MD 380 with their radios cuz they let me.

Why not simply ask someone if they know, or can point you to the radio shop that does the programming?

Or use a frequency counter to at least figure that part out.

Or a scanner besides the Pro-97, which has Close Call or Signal Stalker or whatever they call it these days.

He said he doesn’t have anything except the md380.

I might be able to shed some light here... In addition to doing some Amateur/GMRS stuff, I also managed to find myself being the "radio guru" for a nearby city. Back in December they decided they needed a UTAC repeater for their Christmas parade, of which I set one up on UTAC 43 (453.8625) + 156.7 PL all done to spec.

Anyways, I put the thing up at a local tower site, and asked if the frequency was clear the day of the Christmas Parade. Very much to my surprise there was a call back from the UA PD saying they were going to use this shared channel for coordinating Basketball game traffic. I thanked her for the reply and retuned the repeater to UTAC40, where there were no problems. I have a recording of this event somewhere....

So perhaps that's what you are looking for. I'm a student over there (Woo Pig!) and have it in my scan list when I drive over there. It seems like their UTAC repeater is up all the time, which I'm not sure is exact allowed, but that's a thread for another forum.
