this antenna is suitable for my radioshack pro 164? I want to hear 142-173mhz and 850-894mhz. I will put it 26 feet from the mast

It's definitely not going to pick up squat on VHF. And it doesn't look like any standard antenna design. I thing @prcguy is on to something...

Not really. Some fish finder transducers are a piezo electric crystal glued to a piece of metal to propagate an ultrasonic wave into the water. That's exactly what the pictures show with what looks like a spring loaded connection to the piezo crystal.

It's a transducer. An antenna isn't going to have metal plates on the top and bottom.

How about you hook it up and tell US if it works. Then sell them on flea-bay for $1500.

Use to stick those in a PVC tank at Heathkit to calibarate our fish-finders. Some folks used them for sounding the bottom of shallow creeks around the DC area. Not the best thing to rely on for depth.
