The UNIDEN BC125 is a nice radio but I can not change the step in a search bank? Can anyone help me?

thats the way it's meant to function. the bc125at is a very nice, inexpensive radio. it does lack some bells and whistles.

I doubt you'll see that. Consider that the main demographic for an inexpensive conventional scanner are newcomers to the hobby and the chance for getting the step wrong if made user-customizable would be pretty high leading to plenty of unnecessary returns and brand-bashing.

however it is a good receiver for what it costs, it is quite sensitive and fast, it means that later will buy another that allows me to vary the step at my leisure. My listening position is in the Air band 'V and UHF'

Ah, ok I understand completely. Your area does not use the 8.33khz spacing, and you desire 25khz steps to speed things up, even though the 8.33khz steps will land on 25khz spacies eventually, but takes time to do so.

Since you want both civil and milair coverage, along with the ability to change "band defaults", then the 396XT will allow you to do this.
