got an error report from someone who noticed I have no LEFT CHANNEL audio. I verified that this morning, I have absolutely no LEFT SIDE Audio on my Stereo mix feed.

I've Checked everything and there is nothing on my end preventing this. Will one of you Feed Admins check Icecast and see if my config's have been changed in there. I am using Scannercast which has worked great until yesterday when the issue was noted.

The right Channel works fine. There is nothing wrong with my cables and absolutely no changes to my system. there is no reason this should be messing up. I don't have the time to sit and babysit the computer today so if its not on Radio Reference's end, then I will have to resort to a single feed until I can figure this out.

Oh just FYI, for those who will say this is an excuse to drop the feed. or drop the Stereo feed. WRONG! this is a genuine issue and I'd like to resolve it.

Thanks

ok, I resolved this issue by Dumping Scannercast and re-installing Oddcast. The feed is back in Stereo and working minus Text Tags on the Right Channel.

I have sent a few error reports on Scannercast over the past few days AND the scannercast feed is being sent to the LEFT CHANNEL if that helps in any way.

I'd like to use Scannercast rather than Oddcast. So if you Top Brass folks could look into this and see what the problem is, That would be great. I'll also whipe it out and try downloading/installing a new version of it later and see if that fixes anything.

I've actually had ONE other report of a similar problem. So, it might be a ScannerCast issue... if so, I'd certainly like to fix it.

The only thing I can suggest to be SURE that the "Stereo Feed" check box is set on ScannerCast's Advanced tab. Please follow this weird-sounding procedure and see if it solves the problem: Run ScannerCast. Check the "Stereo" box. Click "Start Broadcast". Stop ScannerCast (click "Stop Broadcast"). EXIT FROM SCANNERCAST. THEN restart ScannerCast.

Does THAT solve the problem?

When you see the problem: Are you sending in stereo? You can connect directly to ScannerCast using Winamp (even from the same system that ScannerCast is running on) and check to see if the feed is stereo or mono.

Peter.

I've been running Scanner Cast for a month now with No Problems, Yes I have had the Stereo feed box Checked and Have listened to my feed on Win amp with no issues. This is something that started this weekend, the best I can tell. Oddcast resolved the problem So now I am really baffled. I have removed Scannercast completely from my system and run defrag I will re-download and install it and see if it corrects itself.

One thing I noticed different is After rici (Admin) adjusted my home feed, this devoloped. and I see on my Home feed in the Live Audio it just shows "LEFT CHANNEL".

Scannercast is sending ALL of the broadcast through the LEFT CHANNEL which before the adjustment, it never showed this. Which is why I am thinking its not Scannercast, but something in Radio Reference.com or the Ice Cast server.

however, I'll re-install scannercast and see if its just a bug.

Thanks

I replied.

Peter I dunno, I re-installed scannercast and am still getting the glitch, In Oddcast it works fine. On the Radio Ref Auto Config, the FEED TO SEND is showing LEFT CHANNEL.

I'm just gonna leave this alone. Scannercast won't run the feed properly anymore Oddcast will. I hate Oddcast and Love scannercast but am sick of screwing with this. Nothing on my Computer has changed from what it was All of last week, this was noted as starting Saturday (Yesterday) and I had some issues during the Storms Friday. I have no clue why this is happening, I still think this is in Ice Cast or Radio ref, but I am sick of fugging with it so looks like Oddcast will handle it for the time being.

Well, MaxTracker, I don't blame you. This problem sounds damn annoying.

If it's any solace to you, I've just now (Tueday, 4 August) received a similar report from another user.

I wonder what the chances are that something is screwed-up on the RR side...

ANYhow, thanks for the problem report. Hopefully, I'll get this sorted out as part of the beta testing, or RR will get whatever THEIR problem is fixed.
