Can there be an option in sentinel to assign alert sounds/lights to each service type?

That would be a major addition, but is a very interesting idea.

I could see conflicts with the existing settings, but solved with:
Setting one in Channel overrides the default for the Service Type?

I added it to the feature request list.

-Location control toggle should be in the profile settings, not the favorite list. This would allow radios without GPS to use the same favorite lists as radios with GPS. I know that locations can be manually entered in radios without GPS via the profile settings, but why have to spoof a location?

-I am not sure if this is a bug or intentional. When scrolling through systems if the scanner passes a trunked system that is currently out of range, it will lock onto that system and place a site hold on it. The radio will not let you scroll past the system until the site hold is removed at which point it begins scanning systems that are within the GPS radius.

-Would like to see the emergency signal be decoded on p25 also, I know it is more difficult not having the status bit present, however, the function is still part of the data stream and should be able to be decoded.

Thanks

AGC on the list for review.

LC is at the FL level to allow LC for some lists but not for others that you may want enabled full-time. But a master LC disable might be a good addition. This too will be on the list.

The scrolling issue will be added to review.

P25 EMERG added to the feature request list.

It should be all that difficult to put out addendums in PDF format that can be downloaded and printed out. The manuals are available in PDF format now. It should be easy to put out addendums when new firmware is released. Owners could download them and print them out or just keep them in the same folder as the original manual.

And that is exactly the point I would make. Sometimes management does not agree that electronic manuals fully replace paper manuals.

I know addedums were added in previous models (in paper format) but I think that is when something was missed.

(and of course I read your post as "shouldn't be")

3. I will add that to the feature request list as well. (check/warning+over-ride option)

To clarify, is it the profile you want validated or the setting under TOOLS/TARGET MODEL?
The one under FILE/OPEN (Which also selects the proper target model).

The obvious implementation would be to add Location Control to the list of global settings, and add "Global" to the list of FL options.

It could be handled just like the filter settings are handled. Global alert default for each service type is “off” and the channel default is “default”. You can set alerts at the global service type level or override at the channel level.

Agreed, but that is an argument for showing the tag, not saving it. Or did I misunderstand your original request?
Mine was not the original request, only pointing out what the information can be used for. In my case, I have more than one scanner connected to a PC, and logging calls via ProScan which captures that data. I get my information from there, so an 'auto-save" may be useful to others, but not in my case.

I agree showing the tags is very valuable. I personally tag RIDs.
I missed that you were not the original requestor.

Will you be revealing what the USB A port on the front of the SDS200 will be used for ?
Seems like it should be on the list .

That, and the USB-micro port on both the SDS100 and SDS200, since they seem to be tied into the SDR subsystem somehow...

And the charging indicator on the SDS100. Same problem. You can dim the display, but not the charging indicator.

This may seem trivial. I would like to be able to turn off the ethernet port lights on the SDS200. They are surprisingly bright in a dark room.
I use ProScan for logging and local streaming, the radio is in my bedroom.
Thank you @JoeBearcat for connecting with all of us.

I don't know if this falls under the 1. I don't understand what I'm doing 2. I'm not doing it correctly or 3. New feature request, but here goes.

For example, your state has a new system in the implementation phase. Every few weeks or so, new talkgroups and/or sites are added to the system. I want to be able to have Sentinel compare the newest database for the system to what I have programmed in my SDS100 and then append the changes to what is programmed in my radio.

The only way that I know of to do this is to go to the database, select the system and then append it to my favorites list. It doesn't append anything. It just adds another copy of the system to my favorites list and then I have to compare, select, copy and add to the existing system. Like I said, I don't know if I'm not doing it correctly or ?

Also, and I hate to bring this up but, my TRX-1 will automatically compare, add and/or replace talkgroups and sites in a new system when I do an import from radioreference. I wish that I could figure out how to do the same in Sentinel. That said, my TRX-1 will not monitor the Philly TRS from my home, but the SDS100 does perfectly.

Last evening I started to look for threads that had pending questions/issues. It became quickly apparent this was a massive task that could take weeks to complete, so I am asking for some help to identify threads that have pending questions/issues. For now, I would like to focus on issues such as basic functionality of Uniden scanners (firmware update issues and major bugs), and would like to avoid (for now) service issues.

Either links to these threads or posts explaining the core issue would be appreciated. I will continue to look for these threads on my own.

The Uniden TWIKI is currently being updated. I believe the BC125AT TWIKI is complete and I am working on updates to the others - currently waiting for info from the engineers for other models. The BC_VUP software has been updated to make certain the latest versions of firmware are available, but questions on that are also welcome. There were issues with the BC125AT which I believe are now resolved (new factory models had firmware versions newer than BC_VUP allowed to be installed, and at least one user made his scanner unusable by installing an old version of firmware - solution: Update to the latest now if you have that issue.)

I appreciate anyone who can help identify these threads with issues that are not resolved.
Thank you so much for coming to the forum. Biggest issue for me with SDS200 is to continue improvements in high RF environment (intermod, desense, etc) and to make filters more easily accessible. Thank You! WA2QBJ

That was actually another topic of discussion with management yesterday. We are still trying to find out just how much UPMan documented the extended (planned) features of the SDS series. I think I know what he had in mind for those, but getting caught up is where the priority is currently. In time, we will confirm or disprove my hypothesis, and will have to make decisions at that time. Of course I want to follow the pre-existing roadmap as much as possible. It has to be more than a port to power an SDS100 or HomsPatrol-2.

Thank you @JoeBearcat for connecting with all of us.

This is 'funny' only in that I raised the same point the first time I saw the SDS200. Many of us believe that port should have been on the rear of the unit for many reasons. By the time that was raised, the hardware design was already set.

And I may as well acknowledge the elephant in the room. Yes, many of us expressed how much we dislike the tab being right below the squelch knob. Hardware is something I can guarantee can't change for the existing models. I suspect the original design plan was to use a connector that has the tab on the bottom (if that exists).

Your request is something I will add to the feature request set.

Another request on the list is a 'stealth mode' (silencing visual and audible alerts), so this falls in line with that.

Also added to the feature request list. This may be logically easy since we merely want the charge LED to follow the existing dim settings.
