Help me Identify these if you can.

Ok, I work with a couple tow trucks hauling junk... and These antenna's are bugging me.... I want to know what they are. This was a old AAA truck so One of them has to be for their 2 way radio.. but the other 3 are a complete mystery. It was used in California untill I brought it to Florida. They are all through the cab (drilled) there's 3 of the silver based ones (one not pictured as it's broken off)
One of them says Radial/larsen and on the other side it says Nmoq which i assume is it's mounting style.. I'm sorry for the pic quality.. cell phones kinda suck when it comes to detail.

Just a quess, 2 look like UHF antennas and one looks like an 800 MHz antenna.

The two silver ones are Antenna Specialists NMO unity gain antennas. The smaller one is for UHF. The longer one is probably VHF since California AAA contract trucks used to be dispatched on VHF. The black Larsen also appears to be VHF although the whip is a little short of the 150 MHz region these tow trucks operated in. It many have been used as a scanner antenna. The black ball looking thing is for a GPS tranmitter that broadcast the position of the truck at regualr intervals or when the AAA radio was keyed up.

If you can get another look at that, it will say something on the coil. It's just quite a good enough picture for me to make it out. Looks like UHF size to me, too short to be VHF.

Going off the length of the whip grog would be right on, VHF in the 150s would be longer like 17 to 19" . Hoser

I think the ones at the top of the pictures, I see a few so I guessed they might have been cab edge lights.

Chedder, here is a tip for 1/4 wave antennas you can take 234, and divide it by a frequency, and you will have the 1/4 wavelength in feet multiply that by 12 and get inches example 234/150=1.56 feet times 12=18.72 inches this will work for all 1/4 wavelength antennas, rearrange that to feet times frequency and you get 234 example 1.56x150=234

so if you have an antenna that is 16 inches long (16/12) you get 1.333 234/1.33=175.9
if your antenna is 19.5 inches long or 1.625 feet 234/1.625 you get 144mhZ comprende' ?

Sounds about right to me. Cheddarhead they could have had radios or scanners hooked up to those antennae, in your line of work you should be able to aquire all sorts of antenna mounts and whips.............Hoser

Next week I am gonna ask you the formula, you had better respond in 5 minutes of less, or I will put a bug in your boots . All those mounts will fit nmo type antennas, have fun getting the old off however, when brass oxidizes it is like glue.
