A friend of mine gave me this small radio to program for him. The only problem is, it has no labels to identify what it is! There is no brand on the front, and the labels from battery compartment had been removed.

I tried to google the battery model, so I could track back to what radio it goes with, but no luck.

My guess is that it's a Chinese brand radio.

Anybody recognize it?

Rather poor picture for ID purposes. It does appear to be one of the Chinese "chepo" rigs..How about a better pic of the face?

That looks like an Model A3 radio by Asia Radio Sales. The link to the website (where this looks like one) is: AsiaRadio A3 Two way radio Usually these Asian radios you a standard Kenwood type two-prong programming cable and the software is downloadable for free.

If it is UHF only (by what I can see on the display) then I would say that it is one in the same. I am not sure on how to program these as well as not sure on Part 95 or 97 FCC type accepted (and will not be getting into that debate.)

Good luck and hope this helps.
