help need

i am trying to decode this system.

Jefferson County Public Services Trunking System, Birmingham, Alabama - Scanner Frequencies

i know people that use unitracker to do it but i must be doing something wrong.

i have a bcd396xt and using a microphone to get the audio in.

what am i doing wrong.

its a 3600 baud system mixed mode simulcast site. are there any other programs that will work or do i need some thing else.

i also have the usb 1 cable

I'm kind of curious as to why you want to run this through Unitrunker when the 396XT will copy that system fine?

The problem might be with your microphone input. I remember reading in another thread that there are specialized cables to make using a microphone input useable, but I forget the details. Check around on the Decoding digital audio threads, I think that's where I read it.

Have you already connected to the discriminator tap on the circuit board. The Uniden BCD396XT does NOT have the capabilities to output the control channel through the headphone jack (without modification) like the GREs do. I personally use the USB1 cable for my set up and works great.
