I'm in Windham, and own a 106. First question, do you have programming software for it? If you're not familiar with how the scanner programs you'll be pulling your hair out. Programming software makes it simple to navigate around the 106. I use Don Starr's Win500. Great piece of software. He also gives you a 30 day trial before you have to pony up the registration fee. It gives you plenty of time to get familiar and see if this is what you want.
Worse comes to worse, we could meet up at the local coffee shop. I keep my scanner programming on my laptop, and we could figure out where you went wrong.
