I downloaded the scanner recording software from www.davee.com and installed it with no problems. I am now attempting to record with it. I have my scanner hooked up to my computer's audio in plug with a 1/8 mono plug, I can hear my scanner thru my computer speakers, but it will not record on scanrec. I have double clicked the speaker icon and accessed the options/properties/recording menu ans made sure "line in" is checked and the volume bar is all the way up. I have also tried using the mic in plug with the same negative results.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

In Scanrec, have you clicked on Open, then on Record? It should work if you have done that.

You will know it's recording if you see a red bar underneath the black area, where the lines are moving up and down.

Yes, I get it to record, but there is no voice or anything. The bar is scrolling across the screen with just a flat green line. The only time I get the red bar is when I turn the squelch on scanrec to 0%.

Try this....

Click Start - Settings - Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices. When that window opens, click the Advanced tab in the Device Volume part of that window. You'll get a Master Voulme window that opens. Click Options - Properties. Click the Recording tab and click OK. When that window opens, make sure the mute tick box is NOT check and that the volume is turned up on both the MIC and Line In. Also, make sure that the Line In check box labeled "Select" is checked. Don't turn the volume all the way up though, it will distort and sound horrible.

You can also get to this same window by double clicking the little speaker icon on the windows task bar by the clock, if you have one. Then click Options - Properties and proceed as stated above.

Hope this helps.
