Iam new at this,I just bought a uniden bc 350 c The first thing I noticed it was a lot smaller than the picture made it look.I was also surprised not to find a user manual in the box.I went on line and found a manual for it.I have a supposed fringe antenna on it,but Iam not picking up much. Iam starting to think I got screwed.Is this thing a piece of junk?Any suggestions, Signed newbee

Doesn't sound good. No manual, poor reception. Can you take it back? I've used the 350A, and it's a good little scanner, I would expect the C model to be at least as good.

That scanner was made for people that didnt know any better. No keyboard, etc. E-bay was over run with those things earlier this year. Average price $10 to $20. All were factory referbs. Its OK for just a few local PD/Fire chs in a small town area. For Metro usage they serve no purpose. Too much 800MHz and Trunking.

10 Codes?????

I'm new to all of this my own self. I wonder If some of you could tell me where I can obtain a 10 Code list from the Mass Transit Administration located in Baltimore, Maryland? The 10 Code list I'm looking for in general is the one that deals with the Transit Operators(buses on the street), and the supervisors in the Radio Room. If anyone has a copy of this 10

Do a search of "apco codes", and you will get numerous sites to give you an idea of 10 codes.

That very much depends on where you are. If you are in an area where the trunking system has not gone to digital or is still completly conventional, you have many choices; if your area has gone to digital trunking, the choices are few, and somewhat expensive.

First thing to do is to look up your area in the RR database; let us know where you are (city/state will do), and what kind of system you have in your area. Your interests will also affect your choices; let us know something about that, too.
