I had my scanner on my belt and bumped into something and now it won't scan. It says "Nothing to scan." I can press HOLD and go to the system I want to scan, Harris Co. Texas, I can see some of the frequencies I have manually programmed in but when I hit scan it gives me the message of nothing to scan.
I can't get the HCSO frequencies and I wanted/need to scan when the hurricane hits here. I don't know the frequency of HCSO Dist. 2 in my area so I can manually enter it.

How can I get the scan function back?

You have either locked out all of your channels, or shut off/locked out all of your quick keys.

No "biggie" - just unlock the channels (program system way) or turn the quick keys back on by pressing the number for those less than 10 or the period button and the number for those 10 and higher.

That doesn't work. The quick key "9" is showing and on. It is not locked. I do have all other pre-programmed systems/channels locked, but not Harris Conv.
The only way I can listen to a channel(s) is to press hold and then go to one channel at a time under Harris Conv, but this does not give me any trunked channels.
I've gone to every option under system program and none of those give me an option to make it scan. When I press scan while on Harris Conv I either get nothing to scan or the quick scan, but there are no channels under that.

This is almost always due to something being locked out, so just in case, here are a couple of things to try:
To unlock all channels in a conventional system, Press Hold to hold on any channel in the system.
Press and hold L/O until 'All Unlocked' appears.
Press Scan to resume scanning. This may also turn all your groups back on.
To review and/or unlock locked out IDs

Clr All L/O IDs allows you to unlock all the locked IDs in a system.
Scroll to 'Clr All L/O IDs' and press E/Yes.
At 'Confirm?' press E/Yes.
'Nothing Locked' appears if nothing is locked out.
Press Scan to resume scanning.

Thanks, Capt. Clint
That did it. I must have locked everything, but I could not find how to unlock them...nothing worked going thru system programming and unlocking since it showed they were unlocked.

This is what fixed it:
Press and hold L/O until 'All Unlocked' appears.
Press Scan to resume scanning. This may also turn all your groups back on.

It didn't turn back on any other systems, just Harris Conv, so all is well.
Thanks again to all.
