Help please :) trying to get my software PRSEdit 500 on my scanner

To install the USB cable on my Vista laptop, I read on this forum, though I can't point to the posts, to let Vista do it by itself.

In other words, when it asks you if you want it to search Windows update for the drivers, say YES (unlike XP) It will then install the proper drivers and assign the port automatically.

Worked for me on my PSR-500.

This issue was actually resolved, and was caused by a bad connection at the scanner end.
