Looking for some help/guidance on how to get NXDN OTA Alias working on my 436 please, when scanning Conventional channels.

I have never been able to see any NXDN Alias info, despite having access to my own Kenwood NX radios (so I'm able to directly set the Alias, and see that it's transmitting the Alias ok by viewing on other handhelds and via DSD+).

Should I able to see the Alias when scanning conventionally, or am I expecting something that it doesn't do? I get all other details ok (UID, GID, RAN etc) if I add the frequency directly to a Quick Save System.

I'm running BCDx36HP Update 1.17.00, Disp Unit ID = On, ID Format = Decimal. TIA.

I have only saw post about OTA info on trunking sites as I do not get them on Conventional Repeaters only on the MXDN trunking systems I use a NX5300 and NX5200 both. It is like not seeing the UID's in P25 Conventional. Try the repeater in question as a One Channel NXDN Trunking.

Program as some type of trunked if you want that. Conventional doesn't show talkgroup, so it may not show alias either.

Program them as NXDN OFT (One Frequency Trunked). Do not enter anything for unit IDs. The radio will then display the OTA alias info. In the event the radio does not receive this info it will show UID :and the number. I have seen the radio displaying this data about 60-80% of the time. It needs to receive the beginning of the transmission, and have a good signal.

Please let me ask this dumb question? What is OTA alias info? Sometime I see that my ProScan logs a name in the NXDN UID Column!!!!...Like "SUPERVISOR2" instead of numbers. Is that the NXDN alias you speak of? Thanks

Over the air alias in NXDN the radio name is programmed in the radio in other systems you have to name the radio buy making up a name to pop up by user id numbers.

So when I see "Blaylock13", "TRK 2016" and "LOADER 501"...ETC in the UID column, this is there company information used in there radios!
