I looked on the RS support website for you, and the DSP from what i've seen is the firmware, or what the radio uses to work. If you have a PC/IF cable like you use with you computer to program the radio, you can go the radioshack.com, and so to SUPPORT for the PRO-96, and you can reinstall the firmware. I might be wrong, since i've never heard of this problem before. (Someone correct me if this post is incorrect)
I have tired but it doesn't even come to the welcome screen, just says DSP Loading Boot: F1.0, then it goes to the screen I posted previously. It was programing fine without a cable. I'll just take it to Radio Shack and have them look at it. Anyone else ever had this problem? Note: The scanner will not reset.
Ok. One last option before taking it to Radioshack is Initializing it. I believe you press 0 then 1 during the welcome screen. But I guess that's the problem since it wont even give you a welcome screen.
Yep. Your only option it looks like is to take it to Radioshack. They might even have to send it to the service dept. to fix it.
Has it been acting "weird" before it said this message?
The message you are seeing is the message that is supposed to indicate that you are going to do an update on the DSP software. It is supposed to appear by pressing the <0> then <PRG> then <ENTER> buttons during the Welcome screen.
Before you run to RS, check to make sure that none of your keypad buttons is stuck.
