Just got a new GREPSR300. im having nothing but truble w/ the software, cant seem to pull up the instructions ..... Im running a Mac w/ windows XP, so it should work? Like the scanner, but Im half tempted to toss this whole mess of the hill..... Ive figured out how to load VHF on to it, but Im in the dark on 800megs, . Would like to con fig this unit mainly for 800meg fire groups...... I have had scanners most of my life, but they were crystal units and old Regency raidos... Im a bit of a idiot when it comes to computers!! Please dont beat me up too bad , but I could REALLY need some help here!!

Running Springs puts you in San Bernardino County.
When I look at the trunking database for Cali,I see fifteen different SB county systems.
Which one are you trying to program?
They look like straightforward Moto II Analog systems, so we should have you up and running pretty quick. :wink:

Yep, Moto 2 systems. Im looking for programming System 8,,(San Bernadino Mtns) Would like to put fire on one bank, sheriff on another. New to trunking scanners. Have a old PRO 2050 worked fine , never could figure out the trunking, did not need it as SBCO was running a VHF simulcast system. They recently discontined it . so i gotta figure out the trunking. Will be back later this today! Thanks in advance for your help!

Try this:
Push the PGM button, then TRUNK
Push FUNC and select the bank you want to use.
Push MODE, select MOTOROLA
Enter these control channels for site 8
866.6875
867.3375
867.8375
868.6875
Select SEARCH and see if you are trunktracking, you can fine tune it with text tags at a later point.

ok i tried that, still cant get it. I can get the first freq. entered. Makes a terrible racket! Is that the control channel? I have been able to input those freqs,you listed eariler w/ the software. it programmed up just fine, got the same noise from the first freq, but it was trunking for sure. Was getting everything from animal control, fire , sherrif, road dept. etc. Im guessing this is where the talk groups come into play? Sure was easier with the old VHF/UHF systems!

Those are the control channels, Make sure All freqs the mode is set to MO also somewhere you need to check the CC only box
