Knox County uses Safe-T in analog mode. Program the Vincennes tower freq's and copy the Knox County TG's. If you scan in search (open) mode you will have to L/O the digital from other agencies that use the SafeT System.

You can't get the digital on SAFET which is what the state uses and from what I see in the database the county including units you want to hear are on SAFET
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=933 although they are analog. Program the scanner as a Motorola Typr II and see what you get.

It's not a Uniden scanner... so no option for Type II

Make sure you set the bank for MOT and the control channels for MOT
Add your talk groups, and then make sure you check the closed box so you jsut recive the analog transmission on Safe-t
If you have other conventional frequencies you can add them to the same bank and lsiten to them as well.

If you have problems, I can make a p97 file for you for that area, though I am out of range. Also, you can receive mil-air transmissions and you are in an active area for them. Just in case you get bored with your studies.

xx8josh9xx,You will be on campus at VU where I went from 1983-1985 for Law Enforcement. As long as the talkgroups om safe-t are in analog for the Pro-164 you should be fine.in .As far as the Railroad frequencies for Csx try 160.230.This was the frequency they were using when I was there.I also recomend that you STAY AWAY FROM THE RAILROAD BRIDGE OVER THE WABASH RIVER!!!!!My door is always open,If you have any futher questions please feel free to pm me anytime.Best Regards,Tim DeLong W9NES Indianapolis...

See attached to get you started...

Bank 1 is Conventional, Bank 2 is Hoosier SAFE-T for the analog stuff in Knox County.

Enjoy all the trains through town on CSX, and the military air stuff over in the Red Hills MOA.

Get good grades, but take time to enjoy campus life and the life lessons they don't teach you in class!!!

CSX Frequencies:

160.2300 Road (east/west)
160.3200 Dispatcher (east/west)
161.3700 Road (north/south)
161.5200 Dispatcher (north/south)

You may want to plug in 160.9950 for Indiana Southern, and 160.2450, 160.8300, and 160.9500 for Norfolk Southern down in Princeton.

I too am a VU Alum (94-97). I passed through there a month ago or so, and noticed that Knox County, Vincennes PD, and even VUPD still have VHF antenna's on the cars, so you might plug in the old frequencies as well. They might be using the old freq's for TAC or BS channels. I didn't have a scanner with me at the time, so I don't know for sure.
