• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hey! So our school has the Motorola EVX-S24 and we recently purchased the SAMCOM FPCN30A. Even after changing the channels to the same channel and programming the same frequency, the two radios still can't communicate. They both show they're receiving a transmission, but we can't hear anything on either radio. I'm new at this, so can someone help me with what I still need to do?

The SAMCOM FPCN30A is only an analog radio and the operating band range is 400-480 Megs. The EVX-S24 radio also will operate 403-470 Megs and will operate with either analog or DMR emissions. You'll need to set up your EVX-S24 channels for analog operation in order to communicate with the SAMCOM FPCN30A radios.

Make sure that both the EVX-S24 radios and the SAMCOM FPCN30A radios are transmitting and receiving the same freqs and tones/DCS codes on the respective channels.

So I have the analog setup and they're all the same frequency. I guess the tones/DCS codes is what I need to work on. Any ideas on how to do that?

Also, Thank you all for the help!!

Just delete all the tones. If you still can't transmit and receive between the two brands. then you can eliminate tones as a problem. Once you get the radios talking then you can go back and put in tones if you think you really need them.

Take them to whoever is in charge of your radios and see if they can help you.
Unfortunately as the Asst Principal, that role has fallen to me (except I don’t have a clue what I’m doing). Our tech guy is out of town, so I’m hoping once he gets back that he might know something or know someone.
