HELP with 396xt going into service search mode after regular scanning cycle!!!!!

I have been experimenting with my new 396 xt and have managed to get it to not behave. I did something that it starts to go into service searching, (all bands), at the end of it's normal scanning cycle. I have gone into the search menus to try to figure out what I could have done but am having no luck so far. Does anybody know what I did and how to fix it? Help!!!

It sounds like you need to lockout the search bands.

Well, I went into Freescan and re uploaded everything into scanner and that took care of it. I wonder what setting that was. If this sounds familiar to anybody please let me know so I don't do it again unless I mean to.

How do I do that?

Menu>Search for...>Edit Service>pick the service you want to change>Search with Scan>Set Lockout>Lockout

When it is on a search you want to lock out: FUNC + L/O, L/O

Keep in mind, if you press and hold the L/O button for >2 seconds it unlocks all systems and search ranges (User and Service).
