Help with 996xt

I purchased a GPS for my 996xt now it works but my question is do I have to pre program the scanner for it to work when I'm traveling ? Any help will be appreciated if possible can u send me the info at nbohioham@yahoo.com god bless Bill

If your using software, which I hope you are or I suggest you do, you need to set the radius for each system you want to monitor.

It's easiest if you import from the DB here as they should already have radius's, but you must be premium subscriber.

So can u explain how to in software program

So can you tell me how I do that in the software program where do I look for that at to check the radius is of the for the GPS thanks Bill WCA guy

I am a premium subscriber and I do use the software program and I did download the the Freq around me from the database but how do I set the radius in the software program when I'm so when I'm driving it automatically monitor the frequencies thanks Bill

It's from within each system. Top right area of screen I think. There's s check box

Unfortunately this is the only area where FreeScan is lacking - it really doesn't fully support location based scanning. However, ProScan and ARC-XT do, I think. The links for both of these are here (anything blue is a link)

Not sure where you got that information from but that's what I use and it works fine for me.

FreeScan cannot, yet, process points of interest, location alerts and other options available under Location Based Scanning

Sorry, I meant to say Points of Interest, Dangerous Roads nor Dangerous Crossings, all of which fall under the LBS umbrella. There's a section on it in the Uniden TWiki and in the Easier to Read manual.

Hopefully at some point Assaf will add these so it more fully supports LBS ...Mike
