When I have to avoid multiple TGID's is the scanner actually skipping those id's or scanning them anyway and slowing the scanner down?

I never found avoiding multiple TGs slows down scanning any. How many sites are you scanning at the same time?

The scanner doesn't "scan" through talkgroups as it does with conventional frequencies. It decodes the control channel and looks for talkgroup grants. If a grant matches something you have programmed in ID Scan mode, it tunes to the appropriate traffic channel. If a grant matches any un-avoided talkgroup in ID Search mode, it tunes to the traffic channel. It will simply ignore any grants for talkgroups that have been avoided, either temporarily or permanently.

Again, it's not "scanning" the talkgroups, it's sitting on the control channel waiting for grant messages related to talkgroups that are programmed and are not avoided. It's a nearly instantaneous process, regardless of whether you have 1 or 100 talkgroups programmed or avoided.

Quite a few most of the Tennessee TACN System plus several conventional groups.
