Well first off, thanks to everyone who has helped me in the R.R. forums. I'm now getting somewhere with my radio. The manual sometimes is useless. I have several more questions and then I think I'll be all set?? These are specific to the Uniden BC250D and turning on Banks/Scan lists. My radio is currently in ID scan mode.
I have 2 different bank sets I use. One at home and 1 at work. Home listening consists of 3-5 banks with associated lists and about the same at work. (the difference being different city p.d. and different sectors for the S.D.) Here is my dilemma.

*1st Question -When I only have 2 banks actively scanning It flashes so quickly between Active Bank numbers and Active List Numbers in the display that I can't turn additional banks on/off. I wind up usually turning list numbers off since that displays longer. I can't seem to hit the keypad quick enough while it's displaying active banks to turn on/off. Has anyone run into this and is there a simple way to turn banks on/off or am I just a simpleton that has no business with a complicated radio.....

*2nd Question-If a bank has lists with no groups in it does the scanner automatically ignore those lists in the bank or by them being on is it slowing down the scanning process?
For example Bank 1 - City of Apopka, List 1 Fire, List 2 P.D., List 3-10 Nothing programmed.
and so forth for the other banks.
Sorry this was so long but it's kind of hard to ask without going into detail.

Thanks for the help.

Question 1.
While scanning press period (.). This will place the scanner in bank only mode. Toggle bank(s) using the number key, then press period again to return to Scan List mode.

Question 2.
Don't scan non-programmed list. If you select one of your non-programmed list, then de-select all but that list, the scanner will scan it. Thus, it must be checking for something.

Thanks once again Frank, That was real simple. I couldn't find any reference to that shortcut in the manual anywhere unless I just missed it. But I'm now able to turn the banks on/off thanks to your insight.
Now, the lists in each bank. If I'm understanding correctly if Bank 1 only has talkgroups programmed into say 1-1 through 2-10 I should turn off list 3-1 through 10-10 in that bank and so on through all the other banks?
Are there any nifty shortcuts for doing that that I've not found?
By the way, I checked out your site link, that's a great site. The enthusiasts in that area are lucky to have such a good reference point. Wish I could find such a site for the Central Florida Area.
Thanks again for your help and your patience with this newbie.

While in List Mode, toggle the List with the numbered keys 1 through 0. This is not global so you may have each banks scan list tailored for desired TG's. If you desire to bypass a TG (or groups) within a list, navigate to it (them) with the UP/HOLD button and press L/O.

Thanks for the kind words on our HR scanner page, however, it was started several years ago by someone else and is now maintained by several scannist in this area. Steve Platt heads it up and I take the duty on three of the pages and collaborate on a couple more.
